1974 Hunter 25 sailboat $250 (East Nassau NY)
Hunter 25' sailboat, 1974 model
Solid, no soft spots.
Could use some cosmetics, but wouldn't take more than an afternoon and a few dollars to get her ready for the water.
Includes
Head sail / jib
Main sail
Fenders
Does not include
Outboard (might be able to find one for you)
Sheets
Dock lines
Clevis pins for the shrouds (Maybe $10)
It will be nimble and a lot of fun to sail. Would make a great weekender.
One or two people can step the mast because it's got a hinged mast step. No more $150 marina fees for mast stepping!
I bought her a couple of years ago and was going to re-do the interior and deck paint, but never got around to it. You could do a really nice job on this if you have a weekend or two. Put her in the water, sail her, and tart her up a bit on those pesky windless days!
All I've done to the boat since I got her was throw away some trash and remove a nasty carpet on the cabin floor. Right now, the cabin floor is ugly bare wood, so a trip to Home Depot is in order. The cushions are probably original, so you're going to want to replace them. They're the kind where a piece of foam is stapled onto a board with some canvass over them, so they'll be real easy to replace.
You'll have to arrange your own transportation - you'll need a hydraulic trailer to lift her off stands. There's a couple of guys around who do that.
Here are some specs on her :

As you can see, the draft is less than 4' so she's an ideal lake sailer.
I have a transferable registration on hand.
